FAMILY FUN NIGHT

Last night, on a whim, we loaded up the kids and set out for some good ol’ fashioned family fun. We ended up at a bowling alley/arcade/fun-land called Strike and Spare. It looked as though it was built in the late eighties and hasn’t been touched since. The place was virtually empty, aside from a few bowlers and employees, which left the arcade and kiddie area all to ourselves. The games were older, many had out-of-order signs on them, but we played the ones we could, raided the candy machines and spent way too much money on Grab-A-Duck, a claw machine that is full of rubber duckies. Truth be told, the place is kind of a dive, but we had a lot of fun and it brought back some fine, pre-teen memories of hanging out at similar places when I was a kid. And, they played some sweet Usher tunes overhead. Big plus!
