Christmas Trees, Wishes, and The Wetherills Say I Do!

One of the joys of blogging during the holiday season is getting to see everyone's holiday decor. I thought it would be fun to join in and show you the Christmas trees we have throughout our home. We do have several; as I have said in the past I like to have a bit of Christmas in every room of the house.

My living room tree is one of the 2 real trees we cut down on Black Friday. This is the tree that we decorate together as a family. On St. Nick and Christmas my daughters are given ornaments. The ornaments represent something that is near and dear to them that year. This is the tree that has all of the ornaments from when they were born on. It also has ornaments that were mine (notice Holly Hobby and Strawberry Shortcake) and my husband's growing up. This is the tree that obviously has the most sentimental value to all of us. We love decorating this tree together and reliving the memories attached to the ornaments. This tree also has the ornaments that the girls have made at school over the years.

My dining room tree will have red and gold ornaments. It has yet to be decorated. I tend to decorate this one last as I have always loved the idea of just having a tree with white lights.

The family room tree has a rustic nature feel to it. There are no ornaments on this tree. I used floral pics to decorate it and carried the theme over to our mantle as well.

My office tree is new this year. Last year I purchased the white tree after Christmas and decided to try it out with gold ornaments. I am not 100% sold on it yet but it is growing on me.

Last weekend my middle daughter spent about 5 hours cleaning her room. I swear the place was a wreck...you could not see the floor because it was covered in laundry (both clean and dirty). After the laundry was removed, 4 bags of garbage thrown away, and her futon given away to a family friend she asked if she could put up a tree. I just happened to have 2 trees in the attic that weren't being used. She selected the ornaments to coordinate with the pink of her walls (on a side note, she has already asked for a room remodel for her birthday in May. I am more than ready to get rid of this BRIGHT pink). Anyway...I love her tree and I love that she lights it the minute she gets home from school.

My bedroom tree....the gift I give myself each year on my birthday (I put it up on October 28th). This tree is decorated in silver and crystal ornaments. I love it and the simplicity that it has.

Our last tree (unless my oldest clears time in her schedule this weekend to go cut a tree down for her bedroom) is the Precious Moments tree. Growing up I collected Precious Moments ornaments. In fact there are tons of my Precious Moments ornaments on our living room tree. This tree's ornaments were given to my daughters when they were younger. We also display our Precious Moment's nativity set with the tree.

My wish this Wednesday is that more bloggers who off their Christmas trees. I personally love to ooh and aahh over all of the beautiful decor. I love to hear about your traditions and the special ways you make the holidays unique to you and your family.

Another wish of mine? That you take a moment and introduce yourself to Madison.

I have said this many times before and you will undoubtedly hear many more times but blogging introduces you to some of the nicest, sweetest, and genuine people. Take for example Madison of The Wetherills Say I Do. Madison is one of those people that will go out of her way to help you. I "met" Madison when I sponsored her and she went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed. Her blogging knowledge is amazing and her design work is top notch. The Wetherills Say I Do started out as a space where Madison could share her life as a newlywed. Over time it has evolved into so much more than that. It is a place where she celebrates daily life and a place where one can go to feel a sense of community. I thought you might like to get to know her a little better in her own words.

What prompted you to start blogging? My husband and I started this blog when we got married to keep track of the lessons God was teaching us during our first weeks of being married. But I really didn't get into blogging until I saw how much of a community is out there and I wanted to learn more about it and become a part of it.
If you could go anywhere in the world where would you go and why? Italy! I've actually been twice, but I always want to go back. I would love to live there for an extended period of time. I am so in love with the culture, the people, and the history.
How did you come up with your blog name? We came up with it because we started it literally the night after our wedding! It didn't feel right until recently and even though we aren't newlyweds anymore technically, it's still a big part of why this blog was ever born.
What is your favorite season and favorite holiday? Why? My favorite season is summer! I am cold ALL the time so I love summer when I stand a chance of being semi warm sometimes! My favorite holiday has always been Christmas, but Thanksgiving is slowly making its way to being tied with Christmas! I love the festivities, the food, and the getting together with family!
What is the best advice you can give to a new blogger? Don't be scared! Try new things, email that blogger you love, get plugged in. It's so easy to be overwhelmed and be nervous but just go for it!

See? Madison is truly a blessing to the blogging community and I am so happy to have had the chance to work with her. You can follow The Wetherills Say I Do on Twitter, Bloglovin', Pinterest, Facebook, Google Plus, and Instagram.
