book review: Essential Sewing Reference Tool

this is a sponsored post

I believe I’ve mentioned that I’m a sucker for books, particularly reference books… so a sewing reference book? well, that has “I’m going to love it!” written all over it. I’m happy to introduce you to the Essential Sewing Reference Tool: All-in-One Visual Guide

(affiliate link), written by Carla Crim (you may know her better as the Scientific Seamstress).

Essential Sewing Reference Tool

is a fabulous guide to sewing, and perfect for sewists of any age, skill level, and style. the book is organized so that you can find what you’re looking for easily, whether that be home projects, garments, or accessories. it also includes an overview on tools and materials (check out all of those presser feet!), step-by-step instructions on various seams and finishes, information on zipper installation, size conversion charts, and more.

this is definitely a book for the visual learner. it includes over 300 pictures to “demystify even the most challenging techniques”… now, that’s my speed!

want a little peek? you can see an excerpt from the book about interfacing here on Sew, Mama, Sew. plus one lucky reader will win a copy of the book (pdf only for international winners).

good luck!
