printable: change what you think

my lovely girls have been practicing their drawing skills along with Lisa Congdon’s Line Drawing Workshop on Creativebug (affiliate link), and it has been so fun to watch them. they’ve been excited about drawing and they’ve created the. coolest. drawings. i’m officially jealous.

i’m determined to trace all (or maybe most… some?) of their drawings so that i can print them at a large scale for artwork, and in the process i thought it would be fun to make a few printables as well.

this printable is inspired by Kahlin, both by her drawing and by our practices of late. as part of our ongoing battle with appropriate ways to deal with frustration, we’ve been practicing finding ways to look at a situation differently, change your perspective, and our feelings. ”if you don’t like something, change it. if you can’t change it, change the way you think about it.”

don’t you love those moments when teaching your children reminds you of an important lesson?

when i last gave an update about our struggles with ADHD, things were just coming out of a pretty bad place. i’m happy to report that, since then, the medication has continued to help. we’ve seen less aggressiveness at home, and Kahlin’s teachers have had very positive reports of her behavior at school. thank you so much to all of you who have reached out and shared your stories and offered support. i know we still have a long way to go, but it such a good feeling to have some checks in the “good news” column!!

you can click here to download the landscape printable (shown above) or click here to download the portrait printable (shown at beginning of post). both downloads are letter-size pdfs with 8×10″ formatted images. watercolor textures courtesy of Prettiful Designs.

happy stitching!
