sewing: cascade alder skirt
I’m happy to be sharing this pretty alder skirt that I had the pleasure of making with Jessica Levitt’s new line for Windham Fabrics, Cascade.
Cascade is inspired by “the many colors and forms of water around us.” you can see the full look-book for the Cascade line here (including my skirt!!). here are all of the pretty prints in both colorways, glacier and pond:
I have to say that I’m pretty stoked to have been asked to make this skirt for Jessica. when I first discovered designer quilting fabrics some five years ago, her Timber line was the first fabric collection I fell in love with. I might still be hoarding teeny tiny scraps and one 2 yard cut I found in a little quilting shop in Napa on my honeymoon.
this line is also influenced by art nouveau and has a very architectural feeling to it. sorry Jessica, it’s no Timber (hahaha!) but I’m excited about this new line and to see you putting out new work :) and I’m honored to be a part of your blog tour!
