New Wall Art

It is a running joke in our house that we don’t put stuff on our walls..for years. Seriously though- it takes us forever and a day to commit to putting something on the walls. Half because we are picky, half because we paid too much money to have our walls smoothed to just put a nail in on a whim!

We have friends and family that will move in to a house and within a month look like they’ve been living there for years, where as we look like we just moved in sometimes;) As much as I am ok with us taking time and being picky, there is nothing better than finding a perfect piece! Once something gets put up, it makes the whole room feel so different, so fast!

We just picked up this piece from Modern Manor this weekend and debated for awhile as to where it should go. One great option was at the top of our stairs, but that made me sad that most visitors would never see it. We ended up settling on the corner of our family room and I love it!! It is more abstract and modern than most things in our home, but I think thats good. We are wanting our house to be a collection of beautiful things, not just one style.

Now our only struggle is what to put on the flanking side. The painting is somewhat simple {cough cough, I prob. couldn’t make it look the same at all…} but we are thinking maybe try and copy it in different colors for the other side:

Its funny how a painting can look so simple, and yet I will probably not even come close to being able to replicate it.

Either way, we need something. But then again, this room still needs a lot of ‘somethings’. Like a new sofa, which is in the works so thats exciting! But also, maybe some lamp shades to go on these beautiful brass lamps that we have had sitting here for months…with no shades. I guess we just kinda roll with the ‘unfinished’!
