The French House, Waterloo

I visited The French House in Waterloo a few months back in autumn and am finally posting the photographs from that day. I love ornately decorated places in shades of gold and white and this place was furnished so beautifully that I couldn’t stop taking pictures. I felt a little like we had stepped into a piece of Paris. The way the tea cups and plates are lined with gold to match the decor is exquisite. Usually I detest indoor lighting because of the un-natural hue it gives photos but the lighting here is absolutely lovely.

All photos taken with Canon 5D Mark III 50mm f1.8 lens, edited in Photoshop CS5

My hot chocolate, and our raspberry and blueberry tart with custard

The breakfast menu. Whoever wrote this has beautiful writing.

Best friend’s English Breakfast tea

A crystal chandelier hanging above us added to the atmosphere.

The cake and tart display at the counter. Look at the way the chocolate is glistening!

A little chalk sign on the counter read “Bonjour. Welcome to the French House.”

A close up of the tart

I forget the name, but this was a bread like pastry with custard and strawberries on top

Profiterole tower!
