Lilly – Eleven Month Update!

Yep. Another month is here. I say this every month, and probably will for the rest of my days, but time is going by too quickly. She is going to be ONE YEAR OLD in a month. I’m really in denial. I see so many of my friend’s babies turning one and I’m like, “Wait a second… we were pregnant at the same time. That means Lilly is almost one. I can’t even…”

Days with Lilly are getting better and better and if it’s even possible, I love her more and more each day. She’s FUNNY and boy, does she have a personality. It’s amazing. I know every mom says this about their kid, but I really am the luckiest. In the world.

Here’s Lilly’s ELEVEN MONTH UPDATE!

NOTE: These monthly photos are almost impossible to take anymore. It is like a WORKOUT for me by the time we are done. She is NOT a fan of sitting still.

Weight: ~20 pounds (we don’t have another dr. appointment until August)

Length: ~27″

Nicknames: Baby Boo. Sweet Miss Sweetness. Beebeebeeoo. Putian. Shmunky Shmoo. Shmunks. Liwwy. Wiwwy.

Sleep: We are FINALLY back to sleeping quasi-normal around here. We’re not at the 12 hours we used to get, but 9-10 hours is the new normal and I’m okay with that. The only thing that is tough is sometimes she decides 5am is a good wake up time and if she wakes up at 5, there is NO hope in getting her back to sleep. If she wakes up BEFORE 5, I can usually get her to go back down. But after 5? Not a chance. So, those mornings are tough and I end up feeling like a zombie by 8am.

Naps are weird now… she sometimes will have an AWESOME 3-hour nap, and then other times she’s refusing to nap. So, I don’t have those figured out.

Eating: Lilly still nurses four times a day and thank the good Lord, she’s not really biting me anymore. That was a fun phase. Not.

As far as solids, she either LOVES what she is eating or absolutely refuses it. We’ve also entered a fun stage of if she doesn’t want the food that’s in front of her, she will pick it up, hold it up, look at me, and then throw it on the ground. Like, emphatically THROW it on the ground. In a fit of rage throw it on the ground. So, she makes a MESS at restaurants. But don’t worry, I always clean it up.

This past week or so she has been a bottomless pit. I can’t put food in front of her fast enough. Doesn’t matter what it is, she will SHOVEL it in her mouth.

Clothing: She’s gone through a big growth spurt and I’ve finally put away all of her six month clothes. She’s still in SOME nine month clothing, but she’s in mostly 12 month clothes now. She DOES have a few smaller dresses that still fit that she wears as shirts. That’s what I love about dresses! They’re versatile!

Mood: Nothing has changed here… so giggly. So happy. So playful. So lovable. Sure, she has her cranky moments and her cranky days, but we all do. She just brings a smile to everyone’s face!

Loves:

  • Bathtime
  • Splashing in the bath
  • When I pour water slowly in the bath she tries to catch it and play with it and she loves it – it cracks her up every time
  • Riding on mommy’s back in the Tula
  • Daddy
  • Swinging
  • Climbing on mommy
  • Snack time
  • Chipotle, Chick-fil-a, pasta, cheerios, blueberries
  • The dogs
  • Crawling everywhere
  • Anything that crinkles
  • Taking things out of something (items out of my purse, items out of a bucket or basket, etc.)
  • Grandma and grandpa, nana and pop pop
  • Giving kisses
  • Clapping
  • Dancing
  • Playing in Lilly land
  • Play dates with friends

Doesn’t Love:

  • Being handed off to someone (i.e. church nursery, nursery at the gym)
  • Thunder (well, sometimes she does… it just depends on the day)
  • Vegetables (I have to sneak veggies in through quiche or something like that)
  • Sitting still

What I Want to Remember / Milestones:

This month has been a MASSIVE month in her milestones… she is SO interactive now and clearly, clearly understands what we are saying now. If I tell her to bring me something (like a puzzle piece or her paci) she will bring it to me, she claps on demand, waves on demand, kisses on demand.

We are working on baby signs and all she can sign right now is milk. We are also working on her feeing herself a bottle (if I pump) and she can if she is on an incline or laying down… she doesn’t quite understand how to hold her bottle up herself yet.

She jabbers so much: mamamamamama, dadadadadadadadada, popopopopopopop, lalalalalala, nuhnuhnuhnuhnuh, etc. Just jabbers all day long.

She can go “SO BIG” when we ask how big she is, etc. It’s just the best. This past month has been amazing!!

She also had her first frozen fruit bar and we went blueberry picking!

What I’m Looking Forward To:

I’m planning her first birthday party – I can’t even believe it! We’ve got an exciting month ahead of us! SO much to do, so little time.
