Pattern: Fold & Turn

Yarn: Knit Picks Swish Worsted in Jade

Needles: 4.5mm (US 7)

Modifications: As I have a small frame, I knit it slightly smaller, by not knitting the body quite as wide. I knocked off about 2 inches from the width, and I’m happy with that.

Thoughts: I really wish I had chosen a different yarn. There’s nothing wrong with Swish Worsted per se, but something about it seems so blah looking with all the stockinette- it’s a yarn probably better suited to cables and texture. I originally chose it because I’m craving dark, rich forest greens lately, and this was the colour I was going for, but I wish I had knit this in a tweed or a marled yarn. Which isn’t to say I wouldn’t knit this again- I love the pattern, and the overall result is lovely. This was a super simple knit, and I love the shape of it. The pattern was well written, with diagrams to help understand the simple yet clever construction.

I would say this is a hybrid cardigan-shrug that has a batwing silhouette (which I clearly am loving this year) and really perfect for throwing on for a little extra coziness. It’s super easy to wear, and does what I love my knits to do best- turn jeans and a tee shirt into an actual outfit that looks great. A fabulous necklace doesn’t hurt, either.

The one I’m wearing is a vintage find that I adore and which I oddly have never, ever received a single compliment on. I’m not fishing for one, but you all know what I’m talking about- I think we all have one thing that we wear and love, yet has never really been acknowledged by anyone else as the spectacular awesome thing that we know it to be. Do you have something that you love to wear like that? Something that you love, but doesn’t seem to strike a chord with anyone else?

P.S- I’ll do the outtakes post this weekend, there are some funny ones!
