Joseph K. Levene's insight:
The Norton Museum of Art’s exhibition is titled “To Jane, Love Andy,” and includes over a 100 Works, many from Ms. Holzer's Collection. Diana Vreeland called Jane Holzer “the most contemporary girl I know.”

In the pages of a 1964 Vogue, Jane Holzer wears purple, green, and orange fur with attitude, while on the cover of Show, she’s a coquette. Her bare shoulder beckons, yet her eyes are obscured by ridiculous novelty sunglasses. What is her next big move, we are left to wonder. As Tom Wolfe asked, “How can one explain The Girl of the Year?"

The Norton Museum offers the answers.
