Whistles AW14

Their first season as an official part of the British Fashion Council schedule, the Whistles AW14 collection was always going to be an exciting step in the evolution of this British brand. The collection featured structured separates, kick pleats and divine textured knits all in an unexpected Autumn/Winter palate led by hazy lilacs and Bauhaus blocked emeralds. Oh, and pool slides.

The hair team was led by (the very chilled) James Pecis, using Bumble and Bumble. Although not deviating too much from last season’s ‘Whistles Girl’, the look had slightly cleaner, evening feel. Hair was blow dried with Thickening Spray into a neat centre part. To create strength through the sides, Semi Sumo was pushed into the roots around the ears. To add extra shine and hold, the finished look was spritzed with Spray de Mode.

The makeup look was created by Lynsey Alexander using L’Oreal Paris. Describing the look as ‘slightly athletic’ and ‘effortless chic’, Lynsey perfected the models’ skin with L’Oreal Paris Nude Magique Eau De Teint and Lumi Magique Primer to add a subtle highlight. She then used Colour Riche Colour Intense lipstick in 285 Pink Fever to dab a light flush into the cheeks, and Glam Shine Balmy Gloss to add a sheer wash of colour to the lips. Brows were defined using Anastasia Brow Wiz and lashes were curled but left bare.
