Berlin spots: Honolulu bar @Michelberger

Here is my favorite hotspot in Berlin, it’s also a bar, like the previous one, but it has a completely different style. I’m not sure how exactly I would decribe the Honolulu bar, but it definitely has this Scandinavian vibe and it’s really laid back. Most of the furniture is vintage and ”books”are probably the main decoration theme. Even the lamps are made of old papers… What I found funny is that apart from the tourists who stay in the hotel, the bar attracts a certain cool young crowd. I would call them “hipsters”, but the term has gotten such a negative reputation lately, I’m not sure if I’m still allowed to say this. But think: beanies that aren’t taken of inside, cuffed jeans with Nike’s, Apple, drinking mysterious organic caffeinated drinks,… What I like about the bar? Hmmm, the delicious brownies, the fact they have proper gin tonics with Hendricks & cucumber slices and the fresh flowers that accesorize the whole space.

The bar is actually part of the Michelberger Hotel. My friends stayed there last weekend when they visited me here in Berlin and were very happy with the cosy room, huge breakfast ( not included in room price though!) and service. I haven’t stayed there myself, so I can’t really give you a review, but I think that if you like these more alternative, original hotels, this is the place to be.
You can find more photos on Instagram ( find me as tripstreasures)
Curious to hear what you think of this place and ofcourse you are welcome to let me know your own Berlin hotspots ! More coming soon !
