I've Got a Secret...
Considering I'm 33 weeks along...
It could easily happen in 4 weeks!
In fact I've forbidden her to come sooner.
Yes, it's a Girlie Little this time!
Or at least that's what the ultrasound technician told us. =)
And she's forbidden to come before 37 weeks because we are having a home birth with a midwife.
And I couldn't be more excited.
No having to leave the house during a Minnesota winter!
I know, I know. I've had MONTHS to share this info. But after such a long silence on the blog I never really knew just how to share our joyous news and pick up where I left off. And I've been running around after the sweetest little boy in the world.
I have had to take a huge step back from my big knitting & blog/website plans due to this. And while I'm sad, because I had just started to really get rolling when morning sickness hit fast and hard, it's a fresh reminder that life, and children, are so much more important than launching a new website and knitting patterns. In fact I have 5 or 6 knitting patterns all knit, just waiting for me to finish typing them up and getting them test knit. But where to find good and willing test knitters? (I've had too many people get the test pattern from me then never respond to any of my emails again) And certainly now - when to find the time to finish typing these new patterns up? I've even gathered outfits for the photo shoots...but there is NO way I'm fitting in those clothes for many months to come.
So here I sit typing away, hoping a few people will read this and rejoice with us.
One reason for the silence is that I didn't want to bore people coming here to wanting to see knitting and instead find tons of Little photos/subjects/Mommy-blog. And believe me, with someone who smiles as often as he does it's hard not to take a zillion photos. My days are consumed with that Little, but I do get decent knitting time in considering. How not to talk about things that consume you? Or that you can't show because they aren't anywhere near being ready to publish?
I'm being bitten numerous times a day by the nesting bug. All of the newborn - 0-3month clothes are washed. So are all the burp cloths, blankets, and anything else I can find that we might need right away. Next up is boiling baby bottles and the pump. I'm praying hard that we won't need the bottles (we didn't at all with Little M) and that the pump will just be to relieve pressure. But, we still need them ready to go.
Now my nesting is focusing on cleaning and knitting. I'm about 65% of the way through another handspun garter square baby blanket - another post - and am forcing myself to finish that before I start on any sweaters. Or maybe I should say, 'forcing myself to get 80% through' first. Those rows are getting l o n g.
In the mean time I hope to play some catch up here as I do have knitting to show. And because I know I'll most likely have another silent spree once a Girlie Little is here.
