13.1 Miles Later

So, Sunday my mom and I did the big San Francisco half marathon. Just like every year before, the first few miles were the worst (can you say no light at the end of the tunnel?) and as it progressed, the hope of finishing without dying became greater. On that note, I’ve been doing this race with my mom since 2008 and we’ve finished every time, so the odds of not finishing are never terribly high, but when you have ten miles to go, anything feels possible, even trying to hitch a ride on a motorcycle to the finish…why I just thought of this now and not during the race is beyond me.

Again, I’d like to emphasis my lack of athleticism as well as the dire need to capture unnecessary selfies throughout the race with my mom. That should explain the pictures that are about the follow. There was also an exorbitant amount of free juice from Suja juice. So I was forced to fall in love with another $9 a bottle company, and gorged all weekend.

Did I mention you get a Tiffany & Co necklace at the end of the race, there’s a chocolate mile where they give you truffles, and we always get tons of free Luna bars each year? It’s possibly the best women’s half marathon ever…if nothing else, it’s the only half marathon that I’ve ever done, so that should make it special.

(we also picked up some tea, taffy, lavendar spray and a few other fun things from the farmer’s market at the Ferry Building on Saturday.)

P.S. I know you’re on the prowl for a new small night out purse, and I know you seriously want to win this one! Giveaway closes on Sunday so hop to it!
