Style notes:

When we shot our wedding photos last year, we decided to make portraits of us every year on the same spot in the park, and even hang the photos next to each other on a wall. At first I suggested that it would be pretty sad – watching us growing older, but the hubby took it more lightheartedly and said that as we grow older and wiser, we will enjoy looking at our much younger and sillier selves more and more.

I have to say that we suck at traditions. At our very first anniversary we failed miserably at keeping this promise – the excuse was that we ate so much sushi, that going to the same spot in the park (which includes half an hour walk, or catching a rarely available bus) with a tripod and camera seemed absolutely impossible. A whole month passed until I initiated another attempt. Luckily, the winter forgot about Holland once again and we didn’t need to “wear all the warm things”. One more reason for taking these photos – my husband decided to grow a beard and… (drrrums!) dreadlocks! I simply had to photograph his progress. The lucky guy has the most amazing curly hair (causing major envy on my side) and from what we read, dreadlocks will be no problem for him.

This time I wore the heart printed blouse again (see side by side comparison with previous look below) because secretly I have this “pink hearts and bows” spot deep inside of me, and anniversary photo shoot seemed like the perfect occasion. I wonder what to wear on our “relationship anniversary” now (which will be on 13th of February), although as much as we suck at keeping tradition, we might skip it all together. Oh wait, it’s a good reason to eat sushi, right? Count me in
