A Little Adventure

Hello everyone! I'm back from my holidays and I'm super tired! So maybe a little post on that during the week.

Recently, my best friend Ellen and I decided to go on a little adventure to a quiet village close by to us. Wentworth is set within glorious countryside and boasts the gorgeous Wentworth Woodhouse. As a child I used to cycle up to the village with my family and have since become quite attached to the place. I'm always the first to want to show it off to people who have never visited!

There's a fair bit to do around the village (visiting the house, antique centre, garden center, the gorgeous maze, gardens and deer paddock, the farm, church, pubs, tea room and stunning little boutique restaurant) and you can easily have a lovely day out on a budget. It's only £1.50 to visit the gardens in the garden center, Ellen and I spent quite a bit of time exploring them! We might have pretended we were Triwizard Champions when we went through the maze.

Once we'd finished exploring we had a good look around the actual garden center itself. I can't be the only one who loves garden center shops, can I? Christmas decorations, Emma Bridgewater and homemade food/drink galore!

After a walk in the rain (and cursing myself for not bringing an umbrella!), we somehow ended up spending three hours in one of the pubs. It went from lunch to many glasses of wine in the beer garden and making friends out of the village cat but it was such a lovely, warm afternoon we decided to make the most of it. It was peaceful and lovely to chat with Ellen about her upcoming wedding and future home! I'm so excited for her.

Overall we had a lovely day! There's so much to do right on our doorstep, it'd be wrong not to take advantage of it. We definitely need a round two, three and four as there's so much I've yet to show her (and I absolutely can not miss the Christmas market, this year!).
