The Happy List: Chapter 12

Hello! Sorry for the week long absence. I've had a really busy week at work but I'm back once again with plenty of scheduled posts! I'm feeling very Christmassy all of a sudden, so you'll definitely start to see a theme now that Halloween is out of the way. Speaking of which, did you have a good one? Jack and I carved pumpkins then watched movies and reruns of The Walking Dead in bed.

Autumn... The year's last, loveliest smile. ~ WILLIAM CULLEN BRYANT
1: Having pretty much all of my Christmas shopping finished and wrapped. I can't tell you just how relieving that feels! In September, knowing that I had bags of time before Christmas allowed me to relax and really put some thought into the gifts that I was getting for people, quite the opposite of the panic buying that entailed with only one day to go, last year!

2: The beautiful bouquet of flowers that I received from Appleyard London, a flower delivery company. They kindly gifted me a bouquet from their Christmas Flowers range (told you you'd start to see a Christmas theme!) and I was stunned when they arrived on my doorstep with chocolates to boot. After a mad dash to get them in a jug so I could photograph them, they're now sitting pride and place on my windowsill in the front room. Not only do they look pretty, they smell lovely too. Receiving flowers through the post is always delightful and these would make for a lovely act of kindness (perhaps for a parent, grandparent or best friend) throughout the festive period. I think I'll be surprising my mum with some!

3: Scented candles. Especially the spiced berry ones. Cosy!

4: Cuddles with Jack (and sometimes the little monsters) in the morning before our alarm goes off, although they make it that little bit harder to want to get out of bed in the morning.

5: Our Halloween night. We don't dress up and we both really dislike horror movies (The Walking Dead is about as scary as it gets in this house) so popping on some music, getting a bottle of red in and carving pumpkins together was our way of 'celebrating' the night, this year. I also cooked us a yummy king prawn stir fry and we ate lots of sweeties, too. All in all, a lovely night was had!

Appleyard London are offering my readers a fabulous 40% discount code to use on any luxury bouquet (besides the flowers by post range). Use the code BLOG40, I'll definitely be making the most out of it!
