Curio & Curio @Tent London 2014
Yesterday I went to the Trade show Tent London and found lots of lovely new inspiring brands and the wonderfully creative people behind them. One of my favourites was Curio & Curio a UK brand started by magazine interior stylist Clair and illustrator Nick. I had a lovely chat with them about their gorgeous brand of contemporary super bright cushions, oil cloth bags, scarves, cards and prints...
The 'Modern Tribal' dramatic geometric collection features eight different oversized, simple shaped prints and motifs inspired by mystical far-flung places. The Aztec Diamonds, Kilim, Feather Zig-Zag, Goddess, Mystical Horse, Feather Trellis, Wigwams and Zulu Huts come in a playful colour palette of lemon yellow, tangerine, mint, emerald and midnight blue.
The 'Tutti Frutti' vibrant and bright collection features fourteen different prints and motifs inspired by their travels in sunny Australia. Bananas, BMX, Colour Blocking, King of shapes, Parrot, Dotty Kilim, Ziggy Zag, Feather Pyramids, Shape Columns, Feather Triangles, Plantology, Flower, Rainy Days and Pineapple come in a sherbert colour palette of lime, emerald, mint, yellow, tangerine, Coral, Hot Pink, Pastel Pink, Taupe and Turquoise.
The 'Urban Garden' collection of stylised plant and bird prints features fove different prints and motifs inspired by their love of nature. Falling leaves, Rain Catcher, Urban Forest, Percy and Love Nature come in a colourful whimsy colour palette of soft pastels and vibrant hues.
The digitally printed cushions are made in the UK from durable, heavy duty natural linen and cotton fabric and measure 45cm x 45cm. They come in a host of prints and colours from Curio & Curio's three collections and have co-ordinating plain backs.
The scarf range comprises of 10 different prints on beautifully soft silk, one of my favourites was 'Dotty Kilim' a pale pink ground with hot pink edging with pops of yellow spots, white spots and geo diamonds.
The oilcloth bag range comes in six different prints on a large wash bag, tote bag, pencil case, flat purse, Large flat wash bag and make-up bag all made in sturdy oilcloth with contrast piping and gold zip details.
