NARS Final Cut Blush Collection

Hello lovelies. Let’s talk blush today, shall we? NARS blush, in particular. I’ve been a big, and I mean Julia Roberts/Pretty Woman “Big”, fan of NARS blush. There isn’t a week when I don’t reach for a NARS blush. So, when I heard the company was releasing four, yes, four new Limited Edition blushes as part of its Final Cut Collection*, I was more than a little excited.

I was able to preview the four blushes: New Attitude, Love, Final Cut, and Sex Fantasy. After a week or so of wearing around, I have some advice: you just might need to pay a visit to your NARS counter to do a little swatching. Yes, indeed. These are definitely worth a look.

New Attitude

If I had to pick one word to describe this blush, it would be: pretty. To me, this looks like a reddish pink blush that gives a nice flush to the skin. It is matte in texture but very smooth to apply. Be careful though, the blush is very pigmented and it would be easy to overdo if you tend to be generous with your brush strokes. This blush is a must-see in my books.

Love

When I first saw this blush, I immediately thought of NARS Douceur. This neutral rose has a bit more pink than Douceur, and is in my view equally lovely. This adds a lovely warmth, almost bronzish (is that a word?) effect, on my skin.

Final Cut

If there was one blush in the collection that was right up my alley, it would be this one. I cannot resist peachy coral blushes, and this one doesn’t disappoint. It adds such a wonderful warmth to the skin. I think this could work on both pale and darker skin-tones. Matte in texture, this does blend beautifully. Like New Attitude, you don’t need a lot of product to get your glow on.

Sex Fantasy

This cool toned pinkish lavender blush was the one I wasn’t sure of. I appreciated its beauty when I saw it, but I wasn’t convinced it would show on my skintone. Well, surprise surprise, it does show albeit this is probably the most subtle on my skin than any of the four. And that’s why I like it. It’s a soft glow that looks great pair with bright cool-toned lipstick.

Overall Verdict

The Final Cut blush collection from NARS is definitely worth a look if you’re a blush fan, or simply looking for something new to add to your collection. What I like most about this collection is that there is something for everyone, whether you prefer warm or cool tones, or bright or understated blush. I also liked that the blushes contain no shimmer yet you can still get such a great glow on the skin. You can also layer and combine any of these to create a different look. Love it! Two thumbs up!

If you haven’t had a chance, visit Laura’s blog for more about the collection and to see how amazing the blushes look on her.
