Here’s to makeup purging and rediscovering old favourites!

Well hello there my friends. It’s been a while, hasn’t it? I have been on a makeup purge lately, getting rid of things I haven’t touched in years or things that I’ve kept as ‘collectibles’ versus serving any real purpose at all and simply taking up more space than needed.

Ironically, at the same time, I’ve been coveting some new items lately (I’m looking at you NARS Audacious lipsticks!) but have managed to stay strong and resist the urge to haul. I’m not sure how long my willpower will last however as I’ve found some newfound room in my makeup drawers given all the purging I’ve been doing. During my makeup purging, I’ve stumbled upon goodies that I have forgotten. You know you have too much when…

One of these rediscoveries was a YSL Rouge Volupte lipstick called Ultimate Beige.

I’ve been wearing this one a lot lately in between wearing the reds, wine and bright pinks I typically wear during Fall. This colour is a lovely neutral nude colour that doesn’t make me look like I’m wearing concealer on my lips. That said, I find I should amp up my makeup or else look a little washed out as I do here. If I could redo my look here, I would add more eye makeup and blush to warm up and brighten my face.

The colour though is a beauty and a keeper. Not adding this one to the purge pile!
