Why we are in love with Mirage

With winter just around the corner (yep, at the office we’re still pretending that winter isn’t here just yet), a pile of fresh magazines and a warm, fluffy blanket is pretty much all you need. It’s intriguing how magazine can give you a little moment of bliss, a moment truly for yourself where you can fantasize about traveling far away, buying the most beautiful clothes and looking at mesmerizing pictures.

You probably all know magazines like ELLE, Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar – classic titles we all love – but lately so many new ones popped up that it is difficult to keep track. That’s why we’ve handpicked some of our favorite ‘new’ magazines that will be put in the spotlight one by one every month. Today Mirage takes the stage.

This lovely magazine is like a time machine that immediately transports you back to the seventies. All the girls have long and wavelike hair, the cars are classics in red or black, the tennis matches are moody, pulsating affairs with highstake rivalries (in the current edition you’ll find an intriguing spread about the Tennis Gods of the 1970s and ’80s) and the pictures of founder and editor Henrik Purienne make you wonder if this man wasn’t born in the wrong day and age.

And, the last Big Bonus: the magazine has the size of a phone book, so it will last you at least a whole day.

What is your favorite magazine of the moment, and why?
