Moodboard – Summer Travel

Sometimes I think I enjoy planning for a trip almost as much as being on the trip. I love thinking about what I'm going to wear, how I'm going to pack it and how I can be as efficient as possible (nerdy, I know). I want to have anything I could possibly need, packed in as small a bag as possible. And then there's the sewing inspiration that inevitably strikes the night before a trip. I suddenly feel compelled to sew something new before I leave. I try not to stay up all night sewing before a flight anymore but it's a frequent battle. Does that happen to you too?

I'm getting ready for a week long trip to Chicago and of course, I'm thinking about my wardrobe a lot. My summer travel pieces must be easy to wear, easy to pack and have the ability to mix and match. For this moodboard, I chose brown a the neutral that holds it all together, a few basic solids and a couple of fun prints to balance it out. At least one dress, skirt, tank and a pair of shorts will be in my bag plus the little comforts of lip balm, sunscreen, sunglasses and scarf. What is on your summer travel packing list?
