MAD LOVE the label drop crotch jeans

Recently, a piece I just can’t resist wearing all the time is my distressed drop crotch jeans by Australian brand MAD LOVE the label (their ‘Clique Low Slung’ pant). Comfort is a major factor, but it’s definitely that carefully engineered loose vs tight fit that I’m completely obsessed with. This perfect drop crotch execution is also incorporated in other key pieces in the MAD LOVE collection (remember that cool drop crotch romper?). MAD LOVE just oozes nonchalant cool, with a little bit of rock and a little bit of Parisian chic thrown together. Their new season collection has me swooning. Think leopard print paneled denim, slouchy leatherette shorts and French Terrycloth basics.

It’s recently dawned on me that, with the exception of an almost ridiculously large collection of skinny jeans, I’ve quite comprehensively (albeit subconsciously) culled anything fitted or overtly feminine from my wardrobe. I own all of two dresses, one being a gift from Melbourne Designer, Adam Liew, the other a new Pink Stitch piece I’m busting to shoot next. At the moment, I’m all about oversized everything – men’s T shirts, thrifted coats four sizes too big (shoulder pads removed, of course), and, yes, drop crotch jeans that make me look like I’ve forgotten my belt. Given it’s my little mission this year to see how far I can push the boundaries of unisex styling, I sometimes wonder if people, looking at my detail shots, think that they’re photos of a guy.
