Lipstick Queen Saint Hot Rose Review

Lipstick Queen Saint in Hot Rose £20 4g

I've been looking for the perfect Spring/Summer lipstick for a good while now. My requirements consisted of a bright pop of colour but nothing too high maintenance or out there. I wanted a nice summery colour but I wanted something that would be appropriate for the office too. I decided upon a raspberry shade in a formula that is sheer enough that I don't have to constantly worry about touching up my make up or that it would end up smeared on my chin.

I've never tried anything from Lipstick Queen before but I've heard excellent reviews and I like the concept of having both a 'Saint' and a 'Sinner' line, both offering the same shades but the 'Saint' line being sheerer at 10% pigment and the 'Sinner' line being more opaque at 90% pigment. The colour I chose is in the Saint line and called Hot Rose, which is described as a 'deep fuschia version of rose'. I would agree, and it is a very flattering shade.

I was surprised that the lipstick is described as sheer, as that makes me think of a lip glaze with only a hint of colour. Lipstick Queen's Hot Rose is actually quite pigmented as you can see from the swatch! It has a balmy texture that's incredibly moisturising and easy to wear. More surprisingly, it is very long lasting. I get at least four hours' wear out of it without it fading or feathering or bleeding which is impressive because it has such a moisturising balmy texture.

The only aspect of the lipstick I am not keen on is the packaging. The box is beautiful and the actual bullet, while it looks attractive, scratches very easily to reveal a not so pretty bare metal underneath.

Have you tried anything from Lipstick Queen? I know it is a lot to spend on a lipstick, but I was willing to splash out a little on something I'd wear everyday, and I'm seriously impressed! What do you think of Lipstick Queen's Hot Rose?
