Sullivan Street

This weekend me and Michael, my husband and business partner, went to Union Square Farmer’s market, the dog run, central park, and all our usual favorite spots. We also made a trip to Sullivan Street Bakery. If you live in NYC and have not been there you are missing out! And if you ever visit NYC, you have to stop by. They elevate bread making to an art. The founder, Jim Lahey, literally was a sculpture artist before he started baking. Their headquarters is right by our house. It’s perfect since they make lots of the products there, so they have a great variety of stuff. But since it’s all the way on the westside and kind of hidden on a long empty block, it doesn’t get too full. But with all the new high-rises in our neighborhood it won’t be a secret for much longer! We bought a few different loaves of bread. And we also love to buy the “pizza,” they have lots of different flavors. They aren’t exactly traditional pizzas. My favorite is the mushroom, which is an amazing and perfectly salty flat bread covered in cooked mushrooms. Michael’s favorite thing is the circular brownie, or chocolate cake. It defies categorization, you have to try it and see for yourself! There is a store in Hell’s Kitchen as I mentioned, and also one in Chelsea. But they sell to other retailers, if any of these are closer to you.

Bombolini, mini doughnuts with filings. I buy jelly ones from here for Hanukah, always a big hit.

If you want to try and replicate the magic, it’s much easier to just buy some and take it home though!
Perfect on the go lunch

I’m going to end the post with a little style inspiration. The first image was snapped by my daughter on Saturday. She was shopping in Brooklyn when this girl’s colorful fun necklace caught her eye, and on a second look she recognized it as my multi bright hamsa! Her name is Zoe and she received the necklace as a bat mitzvah gift, she looks great in it. Thanks for letting us take your picture! If you have any bat mitzvahs coming up the hamsas make a perfect gift.

And here is an image we created in the office last week. I’m a big fan of JJill.com. I buy tons of tops from their site. They are always good quality and they have a beautiful site. I recently noticed how perfectly one of their outfits matched the colors in my Sky collection. I ripped a page from their catalog and put my earrings alongside it. I think matching is very in this summer! How perfectly do these fit?
