The Frenzy Over Chanel

I think my love for “nude” nail colors is well established among those who have been reading my ramblings for a while? I have been on a nail polish kick lately and found myself coming back to the same beiges and neutrals that I had. Not sure if you can sense but I was itching to step out of that clique, so recently, in order to (totally unnecessarily) expand my already big collection of “nudes” I popped up at Chanel, and exited with Frenzy in my clutches!

I have not been a fan of Chanel nail colors as much as Dior, and just have one other color from the brand. That color though, Elixir, is the prettiest and only bright carrot-pink I have and one which I wore for my wedding, so that makes it special.

Some Chanel colors are considered classics, and Frenzy is one of them. Its been described quite amusingly as a grey, while it clearly is a murky beige on my nails. Its not a clean nude and a bit too sheer for my taste but two coats and we are good to go! It covers up without looking very opaque, but no natural nail peeks through. I am always wary of “3 coats” so have not tried that, but I am sure layering it up will give a solid color somewhere between a grey and a beige!

I find Frenzy very flattering on my hands and can almost see it change colors in different lights. I would still stick to my “murky beige” claim, but probably on some complexions it would come off as grey.. not sure! I haven’t found too many colors similar to this in the drugstore but Bourjois So Laque Glossy nail color in 03 comes very close, more opaque. If you are hunting for a good effortless neutral with oodles of chic, then look no further!
