A Day In The Life of Pamela Love

Until fairly recently, the only thing I knew about jewelry was that I liked older pieces. Aside from a few cherished family rings and pins, I didn’t wear jewelry or know anything about the world of contemporary jewelry designers. But then a few years ago I had the pleasure of being a part of a story for Elle magazine that introduced me to the sheer joy that is a jewelry and accessory closet. The stylist on hand picked out pieces based on my home and interiors style, and ended up choosing designs made by Pamela Love. It was so hard to part with them at the end of the day and I took pictures to remind me of how beautiful each piece was. Afterwards I went home and immediately became a massive Pamela Love fan. What I love so much about Pamela’s jewelry is that it’s not afraid to make a statement. Her work often crosses over into sculpture for me in the best way possible – but isn’t oversized so much that you feel that the jewelry is wearing you, and not the other way around. It doesn’t hurt that all the gemstones and semiprecious stones she uses are ethically sourced and almost all metal she uses is recycled, too.

I was curious to see what an average day in the life of someone as creative as Pamela would look like, so I asked if we could peek inside her day and thankfully, she obliged. Now that I know she lives in my neighborhood, I’m going to have to find a way to bump into her during her morning matcha latte runs. Sorry in advance, Pamela. I’ll be the short girl wearing one of your cuffs on her arm and trying to wrangle a dog on the other. Thanks so much to Pamela and her team for sharing this peek inside her daily work and home life. xo, grace
