Domino : The Book of Decorating

My favorite go-to book for decorating ideas is from the editors of the Home Style Magazine, Domino. The book titled, Domino : The Book of Decorating is full to the brim of pretty photos, incredible interiors and carefully thought out sketches. The book is separated into chapters covering the Living Room, Kitchen, Bathroom etc. along with floor plans and plenty of tips on how to style each. It includes solutions for problems you may encounter, and instructions on how to mix and match.

Ever since i bought this book, I keep flicking back through the pages for inspiration and ideas. I aspire to having my home looking like the interiors featured in Domino : The Book of Decorating. Yet, everything is achievable. The pictures are enough to get your creative juices flowing! I also have it proudly sat on my coffee table, as no other book I own is as worthy of a place due to it’s beautiful, bright cover.

The book talks through the stages of creating a space that not only reflects your individual style, but takes into account your needs for the room.
The book focuses on things like arrangement of furniture (altering the arrangement to suit your needs), and colour palettes (create the boutique hotel look or girly retreat). It’s definitely for everyone on either ends of the budget scale. As, it really does cater for all, not concentrating on expensive structure pieces/furniture. It’s more about how to make the best out of what you have.

If you’re American, there is a really useful section at the back titled, the “Big Black Book” which lists useful US based stockists. If only they had a UK version, I could fully utilise this.

From insider tips, secrets and plenty of pretty pictures. It’s a book which can be referenced back to time and time again. I highly recommend this resource for anyone doing up their home for the first time or anyone interested in home decor on a whole.
