The Everything Elemi Cream

Well friends, I set out to make some facial moisturizer and it didn't exactly go as planned. What happened was even better! In the end it was better, but NOT at the beginning...

I had pinned THIS RECIPE a while back and was waiting to run out of my moisturizer so I could DIY some. The reviews seemed to be good and I make mayo all the time so the emulsion part didn't scare me. I wasn't expecting any drama. OMG people. It did not work. Fail. Big fat fail. It didn't come together like it was supposed to. Runny, separated nastiness. I thought I'd wasted a ton of dollars and I was sad. But since I assumed that I'd trash it anyway, I decided a go with the immersion blender would't hurt. Guess what?!?! It fixed it! My handy dandy immersion blender saved the day. Like SAVED. Happy dance. I give you to The Everything Elemi Cream. This stuff is kind of amazing. What set out to be a facial moisturizer is now going to be, my facial moisturizer, body butter, foot cream and hand lotion. Everything I tell you. It doesn't have much of a scent so even my husband is on board. A little goes a long way and when I use it as a face moisturizer, I just swipe my finger across the top and mix it in my palm with another drop or two of Elemi.

Here is what you need: Aloe Vera Gel. Has to be GEL. Not juice. Almond Oil Cocunut Oil Beeswax Young Living Elemi Oil (poor man's frankincense great for the skin) Candy melter (or saucepan on the stove) Immersion (stick/hand) Blender Air tight glass container (not pictured) and maybe a small travel tube for your purse
Again, this isn't my original recipe so bounce over HERE for all the measurements. You are more than welcome to try her process, but be warned that it may not turn out like hers and you'll have no idea why because you are a rule follower and you did EVERYTHING she said. Now your plastic Ninja blender is in a sad state covered with oil and beeswax and the cleaning process is wholly overwhelming. Where is the Stress Away?
Here is my method that works I promise: Melt your beeswax with the almond and coconut oils. Shocker, I actually have one of those candy melters! I'm sure you could just do it on the stove over very low heat stirring the whole time. Once it's melted you need to pour it into a tall jar or container that your immersion blender will fit in. Let it cool. For at least an hour. Once it's cool, measure out your aloe gel and add in your Elemi Oil. Stir those together then pour over the top of the cooled oil/beeswax mixture. Now stick your immersion blender all the way down to the bottom and start it up. Try not to move it for at least 15 seconds. Once it starts to come together you can move the stick around a bit to combine everything. That's it! Pour it into an airtight glass container and BAM. Now you should have a lot of cream that you can use for all the things. Is this stressing you out? Do you need a simpler way to make your skin soft and pretty and wrinkle free? Let me tell you a secret.

Just add a drop or two of your Elemi Oil to your already existing lotions or moisturizers. Dab of cream on your palm, drop of oil, rub them together and apply to your skin. Done. You're welcome.
