Autumn Ready

I might be a confessed and dedicated sun bunny, but Autumn will always be one of my favourite seasons. After a summer of denim shorts, bikinis, and birkenstocks, I’m ready to embrace some warm layers, dig out some favourite coats and invest in some knits to see me through till I thaw out next Spring. By November I’ll no doubt be lacking in vitamin D, covered in scales and generally hating on winter, but for now, I’m looking forward to wrapping up on chillier mornings and warming up next to a log fire (gotta love those cliches).

So far, September has been one of those hot-cold-on-off months; one minute scorching, freckle-inducing sun, the next minute chilly and getting dark before dinner time. Outwitting this weird Indian summer has been tricky. Here are three weekend outfits from my Instagram that I’ve been attempting to beat the transeasonal weirdness in.

Ripped jeans, a fine-knit polo and my favourite leather jacket is one of my go-to looks once it gets chillier. If you can’t find the perfect ripped jeans, just take a cheese grater to a pair you already have.

Jeans | Old Zara (similar here and here)
Jumper | Gestuz
Leather jacket | Belstaff (more affordable version here)
Boots | LK Bennett
Bag | Rag & Bone via Vestiaire Collective

I spoke about my love of leopard print recently and here’s yet more proof of my print soul mate. Wearing this faux-fur favourite over a t-shirt keeps it from being too bulky and works well on those sunny September days.

Coat | Mango
Jeans | Frame
Boots | Aldo
T-shirt | Self-Portrait
Belt | Club Monaco
Bag | Rag & Bone via Vestiaire Collective

These faux leather culottes are one of my favourite recent purchases. Not for everyone that’s for sure (don’t expect any heterosexual male to get on board with these), but they’re a great in between item that let you pretend its Autumn when it’s still technically shorts weather. Keeping the whole thing oversized means you can wear that new jumper without spending the day as a sweaty mess.

Knit | Club Monaco (similar one here)
Culottes | Topshop (similar here)
Trainers | Adidas Stan Smith
Bag | Old Zara (similar here)
Sunglasses | Rayban
