New Jacket (Fashion Me Now)

Forget Camel, grey and pinstripe, nothing makes you feel as pulled together as a classic, black crombie coat.

Despite being such a staple, it’s weirdly the one kind of coat my wardrobe’s been lacking for a few years. So when Armani Exchange invited me to be an ambassador for its #NewJacket campaign, I tore myself away from the camel coats and biker jackets (I think I just about have enough of those for now) and pumped for this tailored, longline coat instead. And it’s quickly proving itself as one of those pieces that makes you wonder what you did before it…

I’m one of those people that likes to focus one one or two key items and strip everything else back to a serious nondescript level. This is especially true when it comes to wearing the most statement-y footwear currently lining my hallway. Thigh-high boots from Russell & Bromley and Stella’s patent, rubber, flatforms can feel quite ‘LOOK AT ME’ if they’re not pared down with a whole lot of black and neutrals. And now its getting a little too chilly for a biker jacket, this new black coat is filling that ‘goes with everything’ hole.
