Night Owl

A few weeks ago me and Jamie took some polaroids for Urban Outfitters’ latest collaboration with Ghost, and I figured it was about time I shared some of them here.

If you’re not familiar with Ghost, they were one of the most prominent brands of the 90s, with a cult following for their slip dresses and waifish designs, and remain the go-to0 for a good pair of spaghetti strap. I’ve always loved a good slip dress, the slinkier and more fluid the better, so was pretty chuffed to hear about the collection. I went straight for this silvery, teal dress in an attempt to replicate Nicole Ritchie at the 2014 Met Ball (google it – amazing). I might not have achieved Ritchie status but I did love how it fell like mercury and caught the light in a really soft, moonlit kind of way. The slight v-neck is super flattering and the fabric is thick enough not to have to worry about a bra and thus ruin the the whole thing with bra straps.

I standardly reached for my biker jacket and giant, vintage fedora to make it feel my own. A massive sweater or cardigan would look pretty damn good too I reckon.

The shots were taken on the Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 which we both loved playing with. Really fun and less room for error than the standard polaroid.
