We are breaking ground on our new house next week and all I keep dreaming about is my new office.
We are turning the garage in the back yard into a sweet studio space for Damsel in Dior. A lot of the houses we looked at didn’t have a garage space capable of turning into an office. My husband found these Studio Shed’s which we were going to use as a back up. I think these are so unique and easy to incorporate into a backyard if you have the space and need {I just had to share!}.
However, since we already have the garage to turn into a studio I am searching for the perfect desk option for my new office. Here are a few favorites.
A wonderful white parsons desk can easily fit into almost any space. In fact I currently have this exact desk in my office right now. There is a part of me that really loves how clean and modern this desk feels. I’m a firm believe in that the more simple a work space, the more ideas are allowed to enter.

Since my new office will be built into our garage, a part of me thinks that it would be chic to go a more industrial route. A wooden desk on the garage cement floors mixed with an oriental rug or two could make for a really inviting space.

My office space isn’t just my office space. For me it is a creative area where I retreat to work on my personal project, play piano, write & sometimes play video games {yes, I play video games}. While my desk is mainly used for work, I am also looking for a large enough desk that can be used for other projects such as wrapping Christmas gifts, collaging and drawing. I’ve been seeing a lot of kitchen tables used as desks lately and I think it’s a brilliant idea!

I am hearing about more and more people using a kitchen island as a desk to provide better posture. Worker bee’s are pairing bar stools as desk chairs and sometimes even standing during long office hours.
