How To Get The Most Of The Summer Sales

shoes | &stories
I am a avid believer in not buying anything full price unless its 100% necessary or already a bargain. This is simply because to me 80% of items are not worth the original price. Also majority of the items I am drawn to in-store/online almost always reach the sale (besides this beauty! grrrr).

So here are my tips to getting the most of this summer sales.

1. Pop it in your saved items/wish list. Most, if not all online stores have this function. It's basically a way of bookmarking your favourite items that either you aren't ready to buy or can't afford at the moment so that you don't forget about them when payday rolls around. However what is brilliant about this function is that, you can also use it monitor changes in price of the items in your saved list. I like to go onto my saved items page every so often to check out what has decreased in price.
2. Know when the sale starts. So the other week I was thinking ' when is the & other stories sale?' I knew it was either in June or early July but I wanted to know exactly when it would start. So, I checked my emails and used the search function to see when it was last year. It a great way to get a rough estimate as to when your favourite store will start their sale. Low and behold it was same day as last year and of course I made a cheeky purchase (pics above)!
3. Buy now, decide later. As soon as that email is sent out to everyone on the companies mail list, it is survival of the fittest (lol..slight exaggeration). My motto to live by is 'buy now, decide later'. Also buy it two sizes, because during sale times items sell out fast and nobody has time for regret.
4. Take it home. With those items you are unsure about, buy it, take it home and try it on with your other clothes. There something about actually buying and taking home an item that makes me know if I really love it or if I was just in lust over it on the hanger. So following on from tip 3, if you are not sold by what it looks like with your existing wardrobe - take it back!

5. Be early.
Whether it is online or in store make sure you stay ahead of the masses by getting your order in early online or by psychically being in the store early. This avoids shopping in a mess and missing out on items.
