Happy Friday! This is a getting published a little later than usual, but hopefully you still need some procrastination material, anyway. I planned to have this up at the normal time, but we went to a Queen concert last night and got home after midnight. Whoopsie! I’ll tell you more about the show after we take a look at this week’s picks. (HINT: it was awesome and Adam Lambert is stepping in as their singer. I found him delightful.)

Vertical book storage on dainty white shelves! Another situation in which something is “for a child” but I want it for myself. Granted, my books are a little bigger, but I bet with some tweaking this could work for an adult, too.

This is a white peach, basil, and blueberry mojito. Refreshing, no?

I was a kid in the 90s when floral shorts were popular the first time around, and I had two pairs that were a combination of neon orange and pink flowers on white denim. I LOVED them, as any 12-year-old does when that kind of clothing is an option. I don’t know that I’ll ever embrace white denim again, but I did just find an adult-appropriate navy blue version to wear NOW! And they’re on sale! Boom!

Since my sewing machine and I are friends again, I’m looking for a bunch of things to make. Like a tote bag out of a rug:

One of my favorite things about our trip to Europe was seeing the architecture that we just don’t have in the States. Everything here is so comparatively new, especially in Chicago–we’ve been a city for less than 200 years. There are a lot of places on my list to visit if/when we get over there again, including Germany. This picture is from Cologne and it’s so charming. Why doesn’t anybody build rainbow town squares here?!

So what are your weekend plans? Since we got our faces melted by Queen and Adam Lambert last night, we’re going to do boring married people things around the house for the next couple of days. We plan to paint the ceilings in several rooms and maybe, finally, start the baseboard nonsense in the basement. (Can you tell neither of us wants to do the math involved? We’ve only been dragging our feet on that for a year…) If Queen is heading to your neck of the woods on this tour, I think you should go. Nobody will ever replace Freddie Mercury, but Adam did him justice. He also ended the show in a sparkly animal print suit and a CROWN, and then gold glitter was released from the ceiling. It was so awesomely over the top that I want to have gold glitter floating around MY house. I wouldn’t turn down a crown, either, if we’re being really honest. I feel like a person in a tiara wouldn’t measure angles for baseboards, so maybe I should get one. Ha.

Have a great weekend!
