Book Review: ELLE DECOR The Height of Style

This fall has seen some fantastic new book releases, including ELLE DECOR‘s latest title, The Height of Style. Published by Abrams who was kind enough to send me an advance copy, I have spent the last couple of weeks devouring this gorgeous book and ingraining so many of the beautiful images into my mind. Featuring over 220 spaces by the top design talent in the world including Bunny Williams, Miles Redd, Steven Gambrel, and Kelly Wearstler among many others, the book is divided into chapters that allow the reader to hone in on a specific point of view: Classical, Fanciful, Practical, and Personal. Of course, I have many favorite rooms throughout the room, but it seems that the Classical chapter is the one I identify with the most. The book takes a somewhat didactic approach with tidbits of knowledge sprinkled throughout in features like “What the Pros Know” and “Anatomy of a Room” which will surely help design buffs to recreate similar looks in their own spaces.

ELLE DECOR is know for publishing some of the chicest, most beautiful, and iconoclastic interiors in the world and The Height of Style serves as an encyclopedia of the best of the best to be published within the magazine’s pages. This is a book I know I will return to, time and time again any time I need to feel inspired. Below, you’ll find a collection of some of my favorite rooms featured in this stunning design tome.
