Chanel Dentelle Précieuse & Poudre Signée Illuminating Powders

I know I talked about one of these powders in my June Favourites (the Poudre Signée), but since I recently picked up another one (okay maybe not that recent), I thought I would do a little comparison. Dentelle Précieuse is actually a Nordstrom exclusive, so if you are eyeing this one, get it quick before it's gone!

Compared to the Poudre Signée which you can tell I've been loving, I was afraid this might be a tad too dark. But no, this provides the most gorgeous golden-beige glow. It is so lovely. If you are afraid any of these powders will settle into fine lines, or emphasize pores, rest assured they don't.

I was a bit afraid to swatch the new one just because of the beautiful lace pattern. However, unlike the past versions, these patterns were formulated to last longer without fading, so woo for that!

I can't stress enough how amazing Chanel powders are for highlighting. It's such a subtle glow and people always ask me how come I am always so glowy all the time. Well folks, the secret is this. Oh my goodness just look at the detailing on the embossment...*swoon*

A side by side comparison and some finger swatches.

With the right brush (I like to use my Nars Yachiyo) you will look positively radiant - in the coveted way. And you won't need to worry about being too heavy-handed either, unlike theBalm's MaryLou-Manizer, it goes on softly.

It's not sparkly, glimmery, or chalky on the face.

Chanel illuminating powders always give the most beautiful soft focus glow, like a photoshopped effect. P.s. these are swatched heavily otherwise they don't really show up on camera too well.

Is it overpriced for the simple task of highlighting? yes it is. But it is also a collector's item, and I reach for these illuminating powders every time I do my makeup. Highlighters are something I only have a few of so I like to justify the price with how much use I am getting out of it. :)

P.s. In case you were wondering, Dentelle Précieuse has 0.21 oz (nearly 6 g) of product, while Poudre Signée has 0.23 oz (nearly 8 g) of product.
