Missing Summer

Photos by – Toàn Tran

Hello Everyone!!!

It’s been a while and for those of you who don’t follow me on Facebook or Instagram, I’ll just give you guys a quick run down of what’s been happening.

Late last month I sprained my ankle and took some time off to recover. Unfortunately, 2 weeks into the healing process, I further injured my ankle on the corner of an elevated brick; sneakily peeking out of a brick laid walkway on the way to college. Multiple visits to the doctor, 2 weeks on crutches and a month away from the gym later, here I am.
In short, you haven’t heard from me because I’ve been immobile, feeling sorry for myself whilst stuffing my face with comforting junk food HAHAHAHA! ….. Don’t judge me.. lol!
I’m all good now though, I’m still healing but the good news is I’ve slightly picked up my walking pace from snail speed to grandma speed WOOT WOOT!!!

Now, for those of you on the other side of the world enjoying the summer sun, I, however, am currently in hibernation, avoiding the winter weather and the miserable rain. Only fitting to the reminiscence of sun kissed weather, I wanted share a collaboration I did with an amazing photographer called Toàn Tran.
I’ve worked with different photographers in the past, as a stylist and a creative director. However, this was the first time I’ve worked with another photographer apart from Chin when it comes to blogging and it was such a great collaboration. I had so much fun playing in the water, running around the beach, hanging out. It makes days like this; the rain pouring down, the air temperature cold and moist that makes me miss that summer sun the most. Lets not forget, I am Filipino, lets face it, I wasn’t made for cold weather hahahaha!

Usually, I would share my outfit details; which store I got my dress from, the brand and/or label. This time however, I got this dress on sale for $10 at a super cheap boutique in the city. …I know, I know, sometimes being a blogger can carry expectations for using expensive brands and labels but honestly, I keep it real with you guys and girls. Truth is, I’m poor when it comes to fashion, I work part time and I study. So until the day I’ve worked my way to the top, I’m going to hold off from buying expensive brand items that are well above what I personally can afford (unless it’s on sale or if it’s something I’m dying to get it hahaha!). Till then, I see no shame in getting things that are affordable and cheap, with no particular brand. Just like what my Mum said “The value is not on how much it is, but in how you wear it”.

How’s the weather in your cities, am I the only one missing summer like crazy?

Thanks for visiting everyone!

I’ll see you all later this week with another outfit post.
