A while ago my friend and I visited a Chinese Kindergarden. On our way back we saw a M&S from the bus and we were like: OMG WE HAVE TO FIND OUT WHERE THIS IS!! Crazy really, how excited you get about seeing familiar shops in a very foreign country. Anyway, a few weeks later my Korean friend took me and my American friend on a day out to a lovely shopping area called Hanjie located by East Lake in Wuhan. I immediately recognised it as the place M&S was!
It seems like the Chinese love to copy the European architecture and make it seem like you are in Europe while you’re shopping. This place was no exception. They even had a small Madame Tussauds there. But Hanjie is definitley a cute place to go shopping if you are in Wuhan. It’s by the river, close to the lake and at night they have lots of pretty lights everywhere. I must go back and photograph the lights!
