In Him Will I Trust

For some, trusting in God through very difficult times can be a very daunting task. We’ve all heard the sermons about trusting in God and at that moment, we think to ourselves, “Ok, God I trust you.” Then reality hits. We are suddenly placed in difficult situations, whether it is the loss of a job or the death of a loved one. At this point, questions such as, “Why me, Lord?” or “Why did this happen to me?” are fired at Jesus. Sometimes, we are answered with silence. Other times, He may speak to us. It was never God’s will that we suffer but once sin entered the world, then everything changed. We live in a sinful world where everyone, even believers, are affected by life’s tragedies and sufferings. The beauty of God comes into play when He can turn a bad situation into something that will eventually work out for our good (Romans 8:28).

Here’s a little testimony of mine about trusting in God. I hope you will be blessed by it. When I was in my last semester of college, I had to take a particular class to graduate. The problem was the class was full for both sections. When I found this out, my heart sank to the ground. I told the Lord at that moment,” Lord, I’m going to trust you that I’m going to get into this class. You have worked other things out in my favor before and I know you will do it again.” With that, I didn’t even think about it anymore. About a week or so before classes started, I decided to check the school’s website to see if there was an empty slot open for me. When I arrived on the school’s website to search for the class, there were TWO seats available. I remembered I automatically registered for the class and then I called one of my classmates who was trying to get into the class as well.

This story isn’t over. During the semester, I took my first exam for that same class and I literally failed it. It was a very difficult exam, even though I prayed before I took it as I did with all of my exams. I really did not think I did that bad on the exam, so I thought there was some type of mistake. I prayed again and said “Lord, I need to pass this class to graduate. Whatever your will is, let it be done”. On that following Monday, I saw the exam paper and checked to make sure that the Professor didn’t make any grading errors. He didn’t. I actually failed the exam. Of course, I felt horrible. In college, we have only 3 exams to take and they are weighed heavily; therefore I was concerned that I wouldn’t pass the class. After this, I began to study hard and I just trusted Him that everything was going to work out. At the end of the semester, I received my grades. Guess what? I passed the class with a B!!! Now look at God! When people say that God isn’t real, I know they are lying because this was not a coincident that this happened. The devil tried to stop me from graduating twice in those situations!!!!! I’m telling you He is very REAL.

I can go on with so many stories of how He worked things out in my favor when I trusted Him, but this would be a very long article! God wants you to trust him just like how you trust your family members or friends. Well those you truly trust! Ha! Actually He wants you to trust Him more than family and friends because they are just mere human beings and are prone to mistakes.

What has God done for you when you trusted Him?? I’m looking forward to hearing from you!!
