[Halloween] Crime Scene Nails

I have another Halloween-ish manicure for you! I have seen quite a few
crime scene nails like this before, but never did some myself, because my free-hand skills aren't the best. Being a blogger for a little over three years, it is about time to step up my nail art game. I feel like I owe that to you, my fellow readers. But I am not only doing this for you, but also to see myself evolve, so one day I will be able to look back and see the improvements I have made. Even though my free-hand designs are nowhere near perfect, I will share them with you anyway. That way you see that nail bloggers aren't perfect and their (or at least my) manicures are a fail from time to time.

Products used for this crime scene manicure: China Glaze - Concrete Catwalk Essie - Licorice Mundo de Unas - No. 9 White and yellow acrylic paint MoYou Pro Plate 04

After painting my nails with two coats of China Glaze - Concrete Catwalk and letting that dry, I painted on the body shape and barrier tape using generic acrylic paint. I outlined the tape with Essie - Licorice and a striping brush. I added some spilled blood using a pattern from the MoYou plate and a red Mundo de Unas stamping polish.

On an Instagram nail art account (sorry, I cannot recall which one it was) I saw someone using black gel pens to do line work. I did not have a black gel pen, so I went with a sharpie instead. It was indeed much easier to write the letters with a pen compared to a nail art brush. But then I applied the top coat and the pen smudged - ugh... So next time I will get a gel pen and try it again!
In spite of the smudged writing I am still happy with how my crime scene nails turned out! I hope you will like these, too!
