block should measure 8 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, make 42

note : to save time and thread use the chain piecing method while making your blocks

Once you have all the blocks sewn, this is a great time to layout each block with sashing and corner stones to see what order you like best.

Sew blocks and sashing. Press sashing away from blocks. Then sew sashing and corner stones. Press sashing away from corner stones. This way you will get a nice snuggly fit while sewing your sashing to the rows.

I prefer to pin my sashing to each row I am sewing it to. Making sure to the seams nest into one another.

Sew each sashing row to the block rows. Press.
For the borders, sew the 7 strips end to end and press. Cut two strips at 59″ and two more strips at 68.5″. Sew top and bottom borders and press. Sew each side and press.
Quilt and bind.
