Neon Brush Stroke Manicure

November is the perfect month to wear neons, right?

Today I was in the mood for something different and I was missing wearing neon nail polishes. I love glowy and vampy nail polishes for Fall but I strongly believe in wearing all nail polishes all the year round. First I thought of a neon french tips manicure but then decided to do a Neon Brush Stroke Manicure feat. four of my beloved China Glaze Poolside neons instead.
I must confess that on Sundays I usually apply a new manicure sitting on my couch watching dvd (Revenge Season 1 today) and a Brush Stroke Manicure was much easier to do while watching Emily use her red Sharpie®.

As a base I picked OPI My Vampire Is Buff because I thought a white base would be too harsh. As usual this Neon Brush Stroke Manicure is much, much brighter in real light than on the pictures. It will be so much fun to stare at while the weather is dark and gray.

What I love about Brush Stroke Manicures is that you don’t have to apply the brush strokes perfectly. I wiped off as much of the neon nail polishes on each nail polish’s brush as possible before applying it randomly to have a more “destroyed” look.

I only wish I would have more patience applying pastel nail polishes like My Vampire Is Buff. Because I applied it too fast and didn’t pay attention I needed more coats than necessary to make it even.
