Christmas Gift Buying Guide

Hands up if you hate asking or answering that question "what do you want for Christmas'! Maybe it's just me but I never feel that I can say what I want as I don't want to come across as ridiculously greedy? So rather than ask the question this year, why not read this and have a little help with your present buying. Here are some suggestions to start the ball rolling.

Lush Christmas Gift Sets, Seasons Tweetings - Winter Garden and Treats

Start off by thinking what they already have. Do they have a preferred perfume, author, electronic device that needs upgrading, do they like alcohol (maybe if they like it too much this isn't a good idea!), do they want a spa treatment, what is their fave makeup brand, do they like a specific type of jewellery? Do they sometimes mention going to see that new show or play that's out, that they would like to have something that matches something they already have, that they saw their friends X and wanted one? These are all some suggestions to start thinking about what to buy for someone.

Vivabox, Radox Relax Ducky Gift Set, Magnitone Pulsar and Yonka Gift Set
  • A voucher for a massage, pedicure, facial or even a spa day. Nice places are Elemis day spa, Champneys, Bliss, SK:N clinics for more medical treatments
  • A weekend away or a trip to the spa at one of the Exclusive Hotels
  • Tickets to see a show - a good new one for 2014 would be Strangers on a Train, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels or perhaps Charlie and the Chocolate factory
  • Tickets to see a concert, new ones coming up are Katy Perry or Drake but there are so many more
  • A facial brush system like the Magnitone Pulsar
  • Some Jo Malone or Chanel perfume if you don't know their favourite (or they don't have one) or try buying a Vivabox, it has 7 samples of perfume and then a voucher to buy your favourite of the 7 samples in full size at the perfume shop. Genius!
  • If they like candles they always make good stocking fillers, try Neom or Diptyque for £££ or Rituals and Yankee Candle are a bit cheaper
  • Yo-Ka gift sets are lovely for Mum or Aunties and they come in a really nice gift bag
  • Beauty Gifts from Baylis and Harding and Lush are not too expensive but come beautifully packaged

Baylis and Harding Beauty Gifts online shop doesn't seem to be working but try Debenhams
Jewellery tips - think if they often wear studs or hoops, stick with what they usually wear if they haven't professed a need for anything different. Stick to whatever metal they usually wear, gold, rose gold, white gold, silver etc. Don't buy rings without the size, either try and find out the size or stick to something more simple. Try and think of their taste, if they normally wear big chunky jewellery then a dainty princess style necklace probably isn't going to get worn.

  • For watches Michael Kors and Marc by Marc Jacobs one are very popular (I am presuming at this point if you can afford to buy a Rolex then you don't need a gift guide lol).
  • Links of London do some gorgeous bracelets including the popular Sweetie Bracelet
  • Pandora bracelets are always very popular. I am not sure why as personally I think they look like something from Argos but each to their own! Pandora Charm Bracelet
  • My personal favorite would be the Cartier Love ring or bracelet (a girl can dream right).
  • Accessories online have lots of gorgeous brand such as Dogeared and they post quickly
If you're not great at wrapping presents try and get someone to help you, I always try and go for a theme and this year it is gold and purple, only problem was I couldn't find a gold or purple gift bag, so I had to go for holographic silver, oh well it's just the one. If you need to learn how to make the ribbon curly there are lots of youtube tutorials and I always stick a bow on to cover up the join, it means you don't have to be so neat!
Have a lovely time shopping and wrapping! xx Merry Christmas
