Patrick Cline at Home.

My friend and frequent collaborator Patrick Cline -you know co-founder of Lonny Magazine, photographer de jour, mentor to me, and founder of UPLO- shared his home on Refinery 29 yesterday. Now, I thought I had a lot of stuff, until I saw Pat’s place. He literally hoards things, but different things than the things I hoard. I hoard chairs. He has tons of art books, and a/p prints from photographer friends like Nigel Scott and Wolfgang Wesner, art and design from his Lonny days, like that giant piece by Jenna Snyder Phillips, and the union jack lamp from the fabulous Betsy Burnham, art magazines, collections from travels, polaroids from every shoot, I mean, if you pop a bottle of champagne with Pat for a special occasion, he will keep that cork until the end of time. It’s kind of cute, actually. There was a period of time during this winter that every time Pat and I worked together we would trade stuff. Like, he took my old bar cart, gave me an awesome piece of art (that photo with boobs and teacups!) I got the better end of the deal, I gave him a botched CB2 DIY table I made, he gave me a Mamiya RZ camera. Again, better end of the deal! Everything I was considering chucking in my mini renovation of my living room, happily went to Pat’s house. One woman’s garbage? Ha! He and his girlfriend Kristin Aytona shot his place a few weeks ago, and looking through the photos, there is stuff from me in every shot! HOARDER. I kid, its heartwarming, really. And I love seeing creative people at home, surrounded by the things they love. And Pat’s place is exactly that. I also love that he has Britishisms in every photo, and come on, isn’t it cool to see a dude with such style?

Wanna hear something else? Way before we met, I blogged about Pat’s first apartment, which was shot for Lonny, not knowing it was his. And he read what I wrote and loved it!

I’m sharing some outttakes from the Refinery shoot, hope you enjoy!
