TOPSHOP UNIQUE FALL 2012

Kate Phelan had me at oversized utilitarian double-breasted coat. Phelan’s 18 years of experience earned from British Vogue has really shown through onto Topshop Unique’s Fall collection. Truly only the creative director of Topshop can know the way to a girl’s heart is through a silk and velvet paneled jumpsuit! Phelan’s debut of the brand’s higher-end label, Unique was relaxed and totally wearable. “We want the girl to be able to walk off the runway and straight into the street,” said Phelan on her utility themed collection. Oversized sleeveless jackets outfitted with pleated leather skirts, spike heeled army boots and a realness that the Topshop girl can really appreciate. The collection was perfect. Every piece something I want to own, down to the military hats and printed pinafores. I’m psyched to purchase Unique’s moss-green crocodile sweater.
