SALLY LAPOINTE FALL/WINTER 2012

Sally LaPointe’s Fall 2012 collection was a dream. Watching as her beautiful cream and ivory dresses donned on ethereal fair-skin models, transition into much darker, more hauntingly romantic pieces, was like watching as darling gothic princesses transformed into chic empresses of the dawn. Although this season wasn’t as avant-garde as would be expected, it was incredibly sophisticated, and quite a transformation for Sally as well. Inspired by Franz Kafka’s Metamorphosis, the tale of a man whose sudden change into an insect leads to isolation, neglect and finally death, made perfect sense. You can see as the models shifted from ivory to navy, burgundy and finally black, gradually morphing into the final product of what would be a butterfly, or a phenomenal lace dress with a cape in this case. An incredible mix was provided by MRWILSONDJ, who added magic to a quite magnificent show.
