I'm happy to report that I successfully completed week 1 of YYoga's 30-Day Challenge. I hadn't done yoga since 2010 so this is an accomplishment for me. This past week actually made me realize for those few hours that I'm in that studio, I achieve positive things that are a result of catering to no one but myself. It seems to me that yoga is what happens when you realize the beauty of your struggle, embrace everything around you, take it for what it is, and mold it into a stepping stone towards a better you. It's pretty ironic because although yoga serves as an escape, in reality it forces you to challenge yourself, face your problems, channel them, and transform them into something beautiful and positive.

In other news, it's official: my boyfriend and I are getting our dog Sunday, March 23rd! He and I are incredibly grateful for his foster mom. The fact that she rescued him from a high-kill shelter, selflessly refuses to take our money, and only ask that we love the heck out of him, has restored our faith in humanity. The world is a better place because of people like her.
