One of the best things about the Holidays are the special makeup sets that come out around this time! Especially for a makeup lover like me. These Holiday sets are always great buys! You can buy a set that is priced much lower than if you would buy the items individually. I love going to Ulta and Sephora in the weeks before the Holiday, just to check out these sets! It’s also a great opportunity to try something I normally wouldn’t, at a lower price. This is how I’ve discovered many new products. I usually end up buying one for a friend and another one for me (that’s the best way to shop, right?).
The one that I got my eyes on so far, is this one by it Cosmetics. It’s called the “IT Girl Set – Limited Edition Holiday CC Lip Serum Collection“. It was actually sent to me by the company, but knowing how much of a lip lover I am, I’d probably end up buying it myself. Hah! It’s a trio of exclusive CC Lip Serum shades.
The 3 shades you get are: Joy to the World, Snow Bunny and Under the Mistletoe.
* Snow Bunny is a very very pale pink, which is more of a ‘nude’ on my lips
* Joy to the World is a mid-toned berry pink, on my lips it’s very similar to my natural lip color
* Under the Mistletoe is a berry-red shade, which is a perfect ‘going out’ shade for me
A nice selection of shades! They’re all very wearable, in my opinion, and easy to layer over a (matte) lipstick.
The other day I mentioned the shade Love, which I’ve been obsessed with for a couple of weeks now. It’s a beautiful mauve color that works as a ‘my lips but (much!) better’ shade for me, you can find a swatch of it here. It’s definitely more a lip treatment than a lip gloss. It’s not sticky, it’s extremely hydrating (it has 9 essential butters) and it has anti-aging ingredients, such as collagen, peptides and hyaluronic acid.
The 3 shades in this Holiday set have the exact same lip-loving ingredients! They increase lip hydration, color correct, reduct the appearance of lip lines and increase lip suppleness. They are definitely not regular lip glosses! In fact, my lips were super dry and chapped the other day, normally I would slap on a lip balm (which has no color), but I decided to apply one of these, I was going somewhere and didn’t want to appear like a ghost, and it fixed my lips right up!

This is a steal, because these Lip Serum regularly retails for $24, so basically this set has a value of $72. See why I love Holiday sets? And this set would make a lovely Christmas gift for your bestie or mom, they’re more than just lip glosses. Just saying.
