Argentinian author and illustrator Isol, who I've had the pleasure of meeting, won the world's biggest prize for children's literature this week. The jury for the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award praised her ability to expose the absurdities of the adult world to children.
The £500,000 prize is awarded annually by the Swedish government to an individual or organisation working "in the spirit of Astrid Lindgren" to "safeguard democratic values". Congrats Isol!!
